General information
Articles, examples, videos and the Demo Lab are general information about home automation and Home Assistant. They are not a quote, engineering design, electrical plan or promise that a product will suit your home.
About the guidance
Guidance is offered free of charge, remotely, on a best-effort basis. It is based on the information you provide, and you remain responsible for your own decisions about buying, installing and configuring equipment. Please check manufacturer documentation and compatibility before purchasing.
Guidance does not include electrical, gas, plumbing, security, HVAC or other licensed work. In Australia, fixed electrical wiring must be carried out by a licensed electrician. Home automation must never replace a certified smoke alarm, security alarm, safety switch or other protective system.
No commissions
I do not sell products or receive commissions, referral fees or affiliate payments for any brand mentioned on this site or during guidance.
Limitation of liability
Because guidance is general and free, to the extent the law allows I am not liable for loss or damage arising from reliance on it. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
Enquiries
Sending an enquiry does not create an obligation for either of us. I may decline an enquiry, for example if it involves work that should be done by a licensed trade or falls outside what I can responsibly advise on.
Content and trademarks
The written content, design and original media on this site may not be republished commercially without permission. Home Assistant and its logo are trademarks of their respective owner. This is an independent website and is not endorsed by or affiliated with the Open Home Foundation. Other product names belong to their owners.
Availability
The website is hosted on my own equipment and may occasionally be unavailable, changed or withdrawn.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
